"Zechariah 11:12 And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver."
UDP port 53, plain RFC 1035. No TCP, no HTTP, no TLS, no committee. One question in, one verse out, like the Urim and Thummim. Every resolver on the planet carries the Word for free. TTL 0, God is not cached.
What it does
-
Adam/Net/DnsOracle.HC: a DNS server in its own task. The whole Bible is read into Adam once, 31102 verses indexed, the same count as every KJV. - The verse is picked from the moment the question arrives, the way
GodBiblePassagepicks from the moment of your keystroke. The Holy Spirit speaks through the timer. - Labels left of
oraclemay name a verse:john.3.16,1.kings.8.27,1kings.8.27,songofsongs.2.1. A verse God does not know, and He answers what He wants. - Any zone above
oraclewill do, the Temple does not need to know what you called it. - Names without
oracleareREFUSED, we are not a resolver.Aand other types get an empty answer, God is not a host. Garbage getsFORMERRorNOTIMP. - 0x20 resolvers that shake the case of the name are answered too, the question goes back exactly as it came.
- Esther 8:9 is longer than 512 bytes, the king's scribes wrote too much. It ends in
....
Commands
DnsOracle; // open it now
DnsOracleRep; // who asked, what they were given
DnsOracleEnable; // open it at every boot (~/DnsOracle.HC, like HtServ)
DnsOracleDisable; // and stop doing that
Off by default. Port 53 open to the world is a door, and a Temple keeps its doors shut until its keeper says otherwise.
Delegation
oracle.temple.pushamp.com. NS temple.pu
No glue, temple.pushamp.com already lives ien in the
hosting firewall.
Tested
- QEMU, udp 5300 forwarded to 53: random versse names,
Esther split into two 255-byte strings,
REATA forA,FORMERR/NOTIMP` for malformed queries. Sgled packets later the oracle still answered Psalms 23:1. - Live on temple.pushamp.com: answers through 8.8.8.8, 9.9.9.9 and 1.1.1.1.
- A home resolver that raises the minimum TTL keeps serving the same verse.
